Only thirty-eight-and-a-half hours to go!

So this blog hasn't been successful at all, but I'm not giving up. So far I have raised $355 (I have $90 in cheques) and I am expecting a couple donations this weekend. I went to the Marathon Expo today to pick up my race kit today. It really got me excited for the race on Sunday. I'll be sure to post any pics. Please click on the link below to sponsor me.

Fundraising Update

I received another cheque today and my fundraising total is now $230. I'm excited to see the donations rolling in but I still have to raise $770 in order to reach my goal. Thank you to those who have supported me thus far! If you haven't sponsored me yet, you have until December 31, 2008 to do so.

I have to run ten miles tomorrow morning. Wish me luck. Only eighteen days until the big day!

My First Post

Well, I'm a little late in the game, but the idea just came to me recently. On May 25, 2007, I lost my dearest friend Eddy to multiple myeloma. He bravely fought this devastating disease for four-and-a-half years. He was fifty-eight years old. The following October, two of his daughters and I raised funds and ran the 5k race at the Toronto Marathon in honour of him to benefit multiple myeloma research at Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto, Canada. Princess Margaret Hospital is one of the top five cancer research centres in the world. I personally raised $370.

This year Eddy's daughter and I are running the half-marathon and I am asking you to open your hearts and help me reach my fundraising goal. I'm not asking for hundreds of dollars; even donating a dollar makes a difference. If you're not in a position to donate, moral support is definitely welcome. Below is the link to my fundraising page. You can pay by credit card or, if you prefer to write a cheque, send me an email or leave me a comment and I will give you the information you will need. Please forward a link to this blog to anyone you think might be interested in supporting me. Thank you and God bless.

Kristin

Please note: The event is called "5k Your Way", but I am in fact running the half-marathon event of the Goodlife Fitness Toronto Marathon
